Hazard Identification (HAZID) Study
HAZard IDentification (HAZID) study are for identifying potential hazards, determining the associated consequences and evaluating means of preventing the hazard or controlling the consequences.
A HAZID review is based on a combination of identification, analysis and brainstorming activities with the main objectives to generate a comprehensive list of hazards related to the operation of the installation, identify mechanisms whereby loss control or deviations from the desired intent could occur and develop event scenarios with the potential to escalate to consequences.
Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) LOPA Study
In general, the activities will to generate a comprehensive list of hazards related to the operation of the installation, identify mechanisms whereby loss control or deviations from the desired intent could occur and develop event scenarios with the potential to escalate to consequences.
Specifically, by identifying potential hazards, determining the associated consequences and evaluating means of preventing the hazard or controlling the consequences.
Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Study
The main objective of the studyis to assign the requirement of the safety integrity level (SIL) of all of the determined safety instrumented function within PGN Facilities.
In overall, the study includes:
- Description and compilation of all Safety Instrumented Function (SIF) from HAZOP-LOPA Report.
- Description of the scenario for each SIF from HAZOP-LOPA Report.
- Safety Integrity Level requirement for each SIF from HAZOP-LOPA Report.
Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) Study
This study is required to quantify the risk to personnel for PGN Facilities and to further assess quantified risk against the adopted Risk Acceptance Criteria and identify the main risk contributors and to develop practical and effective mitigating measures to demonstrate that efforts have been made to lower risk levels to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).
Major Accident Hazard Register, Safety Critical Element and Bowtie Development
The study is designed to demonstrate Major Accident Hazards have been systematically registered from process hazard analysis, and documented in a Hazards and Effects Register including describing possible event scenario for each Major Accident Hazards and identify initial causes and potential consequences from each top events (using Bow-Tie Analysis).
Safety Requirement Specification
Safety critical systems must be subjected to a safety analysis before deployment, to ensure that the risk associated with the system is acceptable and to enable an integrated safety analysis to be conducted during the requirements phase of development.
The study is particularly suitable for conducting an effective safety analysis. It should be achieved between the requirements analysis and safety analysis. In particular, the results should provide guidance on the development of risk reduction strategies and evidence that is suitable for a system safety case.
Cost Benefit Analysis
The study is required to determine and evaluate all the expenses and revenues that a project might generate.
The analysis will helps PGN to examine the feasibility of the project in terms of finances and other important factors, such as opportunity costs. Opportunity costs consider alternative benefits that the company might give up if they proceed with the project or project decision.
